Bayee Village, Wimbledon Village, 21st December 2009

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

IMG_0858Thanks to everyone who braved the continuing bad weather to make it to the restaurant.

From a sold out night to a few not being able to make it because of the snowand icy conditions, a fantastic night was still had by all.

The usual high standard of food from Marco and the staff of Bayee, plus Elvis Tribute Show soon had everyone feeling warm and ready to party.

Once the girls in grass skirts are out and extra Elvis are up for Rock - A – Hula it’s all systems go.

A burst of  Blue Suede Shoes and Henry is bopping all over the restaurant.

A short break and it’s round 2,

The opening of CC Rider instantly relights the energy in the crowd and we’re off.

Sweet Carolinegets everyone singing and waving their arms in the air and we are back into full swing.

We had a night of singers in the audience and full use of their vocal talents was used.

Martin, Tricia and Jane all served up great songs on the mic as did the fantastic Aurore & Tish.

As the night ends the local taxi companies are put to the test showing good food a little drink and Elvis make for a great night out.

This night is returning on February 16th 2010 to celebrate “Chinese New Year” and we can do it all over again.

Thank you all again for making it through the bad weather and see you in February.

Elvis Tribute @ Southern Cross, Fulham, 21st November 2009

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

ELVIS IN FULHAM..IMG_0776…………………Many thanks to everyone that turned up to the Southern Cross, Kings Road, Fulham, on a wet and windy night, especially the rugby team.

Although not a full house on my 1st appearance here, a great time was had by all, again, especially the rugby boys.

These guys loved the opportunity to strip to the waist, put on grass skirts and dance as if on a beach in Hawaii. They nearly brought the house down, literally…LoL . Dancing on the tables and using as much floor space as possible.

Thanks to Nigel the landlord for putting this night on and I will be back on New Years Eve to celebrate the coming of  the new year 2010.

See you then

Chalfont Wasps FC – 20 November 2009

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

IMG_0769_edited-1Well thanks to people rubberneckin on the A40 Tish and I nearly didn’t make it.  But when we got there we had one rockin night with the Chalfont Wasps.  With two lovely ‘Marie’s’ in the audience we got them up early to dance to ‘Marie’s the name’ and even though one Marie was two shy to dance, the rest kept going for the rest of the night.  ‘Sweet Caroline’ got them up on the tables and they absolutely rocked to ‘Viva Las Vegas’.  In fact, thanks everyone, I think that was the best interaction we’ve ever had.

Debbie H…..not so great of you to ruin my hair!  And just before singing ‘love me tender’..my all time favourite song of course??  But Deb, I hope you liked it.

Thanks overall to Chalfont Wasps for a great night.  Here are some of the pics.  You should have seen some of the moves to Johnny be goode’!  And, I didn’t catch your name, but you requested ‘I just can’t help believin’ and you were one of the few peoplewho remembers that it continues longer than expected, and didn’t start clapping early.   Thank you!

I hope to return soon, keep an eye on the Wasps website and on here for further details.IMG_0766

We are doing more and more weddings which we love! Elvis makes a wedding reception even more special. Everyone gets up to dance to ‘Always on my mind’ and jive to ‘Johnny b Goode’. We also do the disco so no need to pay for a DJ on top. Click here for photos of the latest wedding where the bridesmaids stayed glued to my side! Look out for our new advert in the January edition of “You and Your Wedding”.. click here for a preview photo!

If you think you like sound of an Elvis night, come and check one out! See upcoming gigs on the left.

Florida

Saturday, September 1st, 2007

Tish and I flew out to Florida on 9th September, then onto Memphis.

I last visited Memphis in 1990 and boy there have been changes.

Gracelands Mansion is still the same and will always be the heart of Memphis.

Downtown has changed beyond recognition and is a busy happening place, just a shame that some of the originality has gone.

Please see the photo’s of Memphis, Gracelands and Sun Studios here.

Trip to Graceland

Saturday, September 1st, 2007

So Tish and I took a long awaited trip to Graceland. It’s my second trip there but we still managed to spend 8 hours there, being some of the last people to write on the wall outside. It is a fantastic place to go, even if you are not a big Elvis fan. It had changed a bit since I last went, with some of Elvis’ costumes now being moved into a new museum on site. Tish was surprised at how much of a family home it really was and how it was surprisingly tasteful considering how flamboyant Elvis was sometimes! You could really tell he was just a boy from Tupelo who was lucky enough to have just the voice and good looks Sam Phillips was looking for…..

….speaking of which we also visited Sun Studios where there’s a lot more to see than just Elvis. Sun studios was the starting point to many music greats, including Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis. Again this is well worth a visit and this time you can even record a song there….
