Chalfont Wasps FC – 20 November 2009
Monday, November 23rd, 2009
Well thanks to people rubberneckin on the A40 Tish and I nearly didn’t make it. But when we got there we had one rockin night with the Chalfont Wasps. With two lovely ‘Marie’s’ in the audience we got them up early to dance to ‘Marie’s the name’ and even though one Marie was two shy to dance, the rest kept going for the rest of the night. ‘Sweet Caroline’ got them up on the tables and they absolutely rocked to ‘Viva Las Vegas’. In fact, thanks everyone, I think that was the best interaction we’ve ever had.
Debbie H…..not so great of you to ruin my hair! And just before singing ‘love me tender’..my all time favourite song of course?? But Deb, I hope you liked it.
Thanks overall to Chalfont Wasps for a great night. Here are some of the pics. You should have seen some of the moves to Johnny be goode’! And, I didn’t catch your name, but you requested ‘I just can’t help believin’ and you were one of the few peoplewho remembers that it continues longer than expected, and didn’t start clapping early. Thank you!
I hope to return soon, keep an eye on the Wasps website and on here for further details.

Trip to Graceland
Saturday, September 1st, 2007
So Tish and I took a long awaited trip to Graceland. It’s my second trip there but we still managed to spend 8 hours there, being some of the last people to write on the wall outside. It is a fantastic place to go, even if you are not a big Elvis fan. It had changed a bit since I last went, with some of Elvis’ costumes now being moved into a new museum on site. Tish was surprised at how much of a family home it really was and how it was surprisingly tasteful considering how flamboyant Elvis was sometimes! You could really tell he was just a boy from Tupelo who was lucky enough to have just the voice and good looks Sam Phillips was looking for…..
….speaking of which we also visited Sun Studios where there’s a lot more to see than just Elvis. Sun studios was the starting point to many music greats, including Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis. Again this is well worth a visit and this time you can even record a song there….
